The valley of Ottztal is one of the largest regions of Alpine skiing and is known for its highest mountain resorts in Austria. Sölden (1,377 m), Vent (1,900 m), Obergurgl (1,930 m) and Hochgurgl (2,150 m), Hochselden (2,050 m) are the record holders for attendance and are second only to popularity after Vienna.
The valley of Ottztal itself has a unique variety of natural landscapes: flat sections of the valley are replaced by steep canyons with mountain rivers and glacier tops. Two glaciers and three three-thousandths provide excellent opportunities for a variety of skiing. Sölden is considered the main resort of the valley. Located at an altitude of 1377 m the resort has all the necessary facilities for first-class skiing. In the resort area there are four interconnected skiing areas. Glacier Tiffenbach (2796-3250 m), known for its shallow and wide slopes, is more suitable for beginners. His neighbor Rettenbach (2684-3250 m) is a place for experienced athletes. Since October all the upper routes are covered with excellent snow. It is for this reason that Sölden is one of the favorite places for those who cannot wait for the opening of the season in other ski centers in Austria.
There are all necessary conditions for recreation and sports, including a large swimming pool with slides and waterfalls, a children's pool, saunas, a jacuzzi, herbal and aromatic baths, a solarium, a gym, 2 indoor tennis courts, bowling.
